This paper presents a proposal for literary literacy, based on the short story A beautiful darkness, by the Angolan writer Ondjaki, having as theoretical basis the methodological approaches organized by Rildo Cosson in the book Letramento literário: teoria e prática, published in 2014. The work suggestion presented here aims to remove the student from the condition of passive reader, who only receives information through reading, to elevate him to the position of explorer, whose role is to investigate the potentialities presented by the literary text, in order to understand the possibilities of meaning that the narrative has for himself, for his peers and for the society in which he is inserted. Following the steps of the model suggested by Cosson, and making the necessary adjustments, the proposal presented here is divided into four sequential parts: motivation, introduction, reading, interpretation and expansion.
Keywords: Literary literacy. Didactic sequence. African literature. Children's and young adult literature. Ondjaki.
