O cinema e a intelectualidade brasileira

Abstract

RESUMO Estuda as relações entre os intelectuais brasileiros e o cinema, classificando-os em três tipos: o intelectual espectador comum infantilizado, o intelectual espectador consciente e omisso e o intelectual esteta coerente. Como exemplo do último tipo, analisa, entre outros intelectuais, os casos de Alceu Amoroso Lima, Aníbal Machado, Octavio de Faria e, principalmente, do pernambucano Evaldo Coutinho. Conclui com breve apreciação das relações dos intelectuais da Paraíba com o cinema. ABSTRACT Movie and Brazilian Intellectuals. v. 23, n. 2, p. 221-226, jul./dez. 1995. Studies the relations between Brazilian intellectuals and movie, classifying them in three types: the childish spectator intellectual, the aware but careless spectator intellectual, and the coherent aesthete intellectual. As examples of the latter, analyses, among other intellectuals, the cases of Alceu Amoroso Lima, Aníbal Machado, Octavio de Faria, and, mostly, Evaldo Coutinho. Concludes with a brief exam of the relations between intelletuals and movie in the state of Paraíba, Northeast of Brazil. Pour bien faire comprendre ses idées, l’auteur classifie les intellectuels en trois catégories différentes: l’intellectuel spectateur commun enfantin, l’intellectuel spectateur conscient et omis et l’intllectuel esthète cohérent. Exemple de cette dernière catégorie, il analyse Alceu Amoroso Lima, Aníbal Machado, Octavio de Faria et principalement Evaldo Coutinho. Sa conclusion porte sur un brève commentaire sur les rapports entre les intellectuels de l’Etat de la Paraíba et le cinéma.
