Abstract

This study aims to identify the nature and contributions of UFRPE-Sede and its Academic Units' extension projects to society, analyzing their scope and impact. It is an exploratory, descriptive study with a qualitative approach, using intentional sampling. To achieve the objectives, semi-structured interviews were conducted with managers, professors, and project coordinators, in addition to data collection and analysis of official sources. The results indicate that, despite challenges and limitations, UFRPE's extension projects play a crucial role as agents of social and academic transformation. However, collaboration with societal actors remains incipient, particularly regarding interaction with the local productive sector.
