This article aims to analyze the extent to which the school infrastructure affects the students' school performance, based on the particular case of Recife's public school system. Databases generated by FUNDAJ and INEP were used. The approach is quantitative with the use of regression analysis techniques. The results show the importance of a good school infrastructure. But, more than that, they reveal that infrastructure interacts with other educational components. The main conclusion of the paper is to demonstrate that physical investment decisions should not be dissociated from other educational policies.
Key words: Infrastructure. Influence. School learning.
