Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- Ciência & Trópico accepts articles from masters and doctors. Master's students can enroll in co-authorship with a doctor.
- The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated for publication by another journal; otherwise, it must be justified in "Comments to the editor".
- The submission file is in Microsoft Word format.
- The text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements for scientific journals.
- All authors' metadata is filled in correctly, with Authorship, affiliation, e-mail and ORCID.
- The text is 1.5 spacing; uses italics instead of underlining (except in URL addresses); figures and tables are inserted in the text, not at the end of the document in the form of attachments.
- The addresses of the sites (URLs) for the references were informed when possible.
- The submitted articles will undergo blind peer review. The evaluators are professionals in the specific areas and can be from inside or outside the institution, depending on the availability and expertise of each one.

Once the submission is made, the article will go through blind peer review, which will result in the reviewer's suggestion to the editor, which can be:
a) accepted (The article will go on for editing and layout) to be published next)
b) Revisions required (the article needs specific revisions, whether structural, grammatical or content. Once the revisions are made, the article proceeds to editing and layout for later publication).
c) Submit the new one (The article needs to be improved to fit the journal's specificities and requirements. After the adjustments, the article will go through blind peer review again).
d) Reject (The article does not meet the expectations and / or requirements of the journal and, therefore, cannot be included in the edition).
In case of acceptance, the article will go through editing, layout and then it will be published according to each number in the stream.
- The average time between submission and publication is 120 days, considering that it is a biannual journal.
