As mudanças nas relações de trabalho e o novo clientelismo no campo na Paraíba

Resumo

O artigo tenta refletir sobre as conseqüências do processo de assalariamento no campo no Nordeste, do ponto de vista das relações de dominação. Objetiva-se mostrar as articulações entre as mudanças nas relações de poder, a partir da plantation canavieira na Paraíba. Trata-se de examinar o papel que o Sindicato vai representar como um novo campo de lutas no jogo de forças entre patrões e trabalhadores, com as facções políticas dominantes tentando cooptá-lo. Da mesma forma, novas práticas c1ientelísticas se estabelecem a partir do crescimento das "pontas de rua" e da substituição do patrão pelo Estado no que se refere a serviços assistenciais. Mostra como se atualizaram as relações c1ientelistas nas esferas de poder local, estadual e federal a partir mesmo da racionalidade do "planejamento" governamental. Por fim, discute as representações que os trabalhadores têm do "político" e da "política", apontando para algumas constatações sobre o significado do voto para os mesmos. The article deals with the consequences of the process towards wage labor in the Northeast countryside from the point of view of relations of dominations. The object is to show the articulations between labor relations and power relations, using data from the Paraiba sugar plantations. It examines the role the syndicate plays in the new field of struggle with relation to the play of forces between owners and workers and the dominant political forces trying to coopt them. On the same way, new clientelistic practices are established with the growth of "pontas de rua" (urban periphery where rural workers reside) and with the substitution of the owners by the state and its services of assistance. It shows how the clientelistic relations are brought up-to-date in local, state and federal power spheres from the perspective of the rationality of government "planning". Finally, it discusses show workers represent "policious" and "politics"; pointing out some findings on what that about their voting.
