Estrutura produtiva e padrão de desenvolvimento no Brasil

Abstract

O objetivo central deste trabalho é estudar a problemática da distribuição de renda no Brasil, enfatizando seus condicionantes estruturais. Para atingir tal desiderato, procurou-se enquadrar a análise em uma categoria conceitual suficientemente ampla e globalizante - "a heterogeneidade estrutural" - que tem a característica de sintetizar os traços mais dominantes das compleições produtivas da América Latina em geral e os do Brasil em particular. Discutida a natureza dessa heterogeneidade estrutural e suas implicações sobre a distribuição da renda, buscou-se identificar as forças que, direta ou indiretamente, tendem a reproduzi-la ou até mesmo a intensificá-la. Nesse afã, tentou-se compreender o caráter e as conseqüências do estilo de desenvolvimento adotado no País. The central purpose of this paper is to study the question of income distribution in Brazil, highlighting its structural conditioning factors. To'achieve this goal an attempt is made to place the analysis in a conceptual category - "structural heterogeneity" - sufficiently broad and all-embracing to synthesize the most salient characteristics of the structure of production of Latin America in general and that of Brazil in particular. After discussing the nature of this structural heterogeneity and its implications for income distribution, the author seeks to identify the forces that, whether directly or indirectly tend to reproduce or even to intensify them. An attempt is made to understand the character and consequences of the model of development adopted in Brazil.
