Gilberto Freyre: a sociologia como sistema

Resumo

RESUMO Gilberto Freyre pertence a uma linhagem de escritores ensaístas que desenvolveram seus trabalhos na década do 30. O traço mais geral dos seus trabalhos é uma "obsessão explicativa do Brasil”, voltada para as raízes de nossa formação. Em seus trabalhos pós-30, o escritor busca, tanto a construção dos instrumentos analíticos novos, como uma nova in¬terpretação da história social brasileira, que marcará profundamente a reflexão sobre o social. Gilberto Freyre representa um momento de passagem, o fechamento de um ciclo, quando a teoria social deixa de apresentar-se como manifestação dispersa e surge coma um sistema: a sociologia. Neste sentido, é o último pensador do um período e o primeiro de uma nova etapa. O assunto básico da sociologia gilbertiana é o conhecimento do senso comum da vida cotidiana. Gilberto Freyre belongs to a group of writers who developed their works in the thirtieth decade. The main point of Gilberto’s work is the constant explanation he gives about Brazil always turned to the roots of our formation. In his works after 1930, the writer tries both the formation of new analitical instruments, and a new interpretation of the Brazilian Social History, elements that will set the studies about the social aspect. Gilberto Freyre represents the passage and the end of a cicle, when the social theory is not presented as a dispersed manifestation and appears as a system: the Sociology. He is in this sense, the last thinker of a period and the first one of a new stage. The basical subject of Gilberto Freyre’s sociology is the knowledge of the common sense of the daily life. Le trait le plus général de ses travaux est une “obsession explicative du Brésil tournée vers les racines de notre formation. Dans ses travaux après les années 30, l’écrivain cherche soit la construction des nouveaux instruments analytiques, soit une nouvelle interprétation de l’histoire sociale brésilienne, qui marquera profondement la réflexion sur le social. Gilberto Freyre représente un moment de passage, la clôture d’un cycle quand la théorie sociale laisse de se présenter comme une manifestation disperse et apparaît comme un système: la sociologie. Dans ce sens, c’est le dernier penseur d’une période et le premier d’une nouvelle étape. Le sujet principal de la sociologie gilbertienne est la connaissance du sens commun de la vie quotidienne. Les positions prises par Gilberto rendent son oeuvre importante dans les jeux des forces politiques.
