As organizações populares do Recife, trajetória e articulação política (1955-1964)

O objetivo deste trabalho e contribuir para a reconstituição da história dos movimentos de bairro no Recife, no período 1955-1964, São abordados temas como a origem e autonomia desses movimentos, bem como de sua estrutura organizacional e a relação com a prefeitura e os partidos políticos. O artigo conclui pela falta de espontaneidade e autonomia política das associações de moradores e órgãos similares. Entretanto esses fatos não se traduzem em uma inautenticidade dos movimentos. ************************** The purpose of this paper is to contribute to the reconstitution of the history of the movements centered on local districts of Recife in the period 1955-1964. Topics discussed include the origin and autonomy of these movements, their organizational structure and their relationship with the city council and political parties. The article concludes that the residents’ associations and similar bodies reveal a lack of spontaneity and political autonomy. These facts do not, however, imply that the movements are lacking in authenticity. real difficulties encountered in everyday life; his actions, on the other, evidence incessant forms of struggle that cannot be spoken of as passive attitudes. An analysis of both the speech and actions of the people concerned has led to the demystification of many of the myths that afe created regarding the marginal status of low-income individuals.
